High School Summer Reading Lists - Revisiting Classic Bestsellers

Monday May 29, 2006
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper LeeMemorial Day marks the unofficial start of summer. As the weather warms and schools let out, you may begin to see some new (or should I say, old) books on display at bookstores. That's because booksellers know students around the country have been assigned summer reading lists.

High school summer reading lists are legendary. Many of us, however, managed to make it out of high school without being assigned some essential summer reading titles. (I managed to earn a college degree in English without ever being assigned half the books on this list). This summer, why not pick up a book from this list of the best high school summer reading books? These great books will make you wonder why you ever dreaded summer reading assignments.
