Sudan and What is the What

While most people I know are pretty entrenched in Olympic fever, the spotlight on China has not been entirely positive. One of the biggest areas of protest has been the Chinese government's support of the Sudanese government.

If you are interested in learning more about Sudan, I highly recommend Dave Egger's What is the What. This book is not about the crisis in Darfur; rather, it is the story of one of the "Lost Boys" from the North - South Civil War. Well written and riveting, What is the What is a timely and powerful novel.
