Nicholas Sparks' Latest Release

Nicholas Sparks doesn't seem to be veering from his usual formula in his latest release, The Last Song. Even the setting -- Wilmington, NC -- will be very familiar to Sparks' fans.

Here's a quick synopsis:

When Veronica Miller's parents divorce and her dad moves from New York City to Wilmington, NC, she becomes angry and estranged from both of them. Two years after the divorce, Veronica's mother decides that she wants her to spend the whole summer with her father in Wilmington. This summer is the backdrop for Nicholas Sparks tear-jerking, heart-rending family drama.

So, what do you think? For me, Sparks is someone I would prefer to read in paperback the summer after his books are released. He can write a good beach read, but not the sort of thing I want to invest in when there are so many other amazing fall releases.
