The movie version of The Notebook, starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, was released in 2004. This book was released in 2009, but the movie rights were sold before it was even written. Also, Sparks wrote it with Miley Cyrus (who is starring in the movie) in mind. 'The Lucky One'
The Lucky One is an adaptation of Sparks' 2008 novel by the same name. In The Lucky One U.S. Marine Logan Thibault finds a photograph of a woman buried in the sand while in Iraq. After finding it, he experiences good luck in many situations. He attributes the luck to the photo. Once home, he decides to track down the woman in the picture.
