Wondering what books will be made into movies in 2013? Here's the scoop on some of the biggest movies based on books.
'Safe Haven'
Nicholas Sparks' movies often draw new fans to his books. The books and movies are often romantic and sad with a sense of morality. Safe Haven is the story of a woman with a dark past who arrives in a small North Carolina town and intends not to form close relationships. Of course, love ensues and the past catches up with her. Safe Haven is set for release in February 2013.
'The Host'
Twi-hards don't need to despair in 2013! There may not be another Twilight movie, but Stephenie Meyer's book, The Host, is being converted into a film that will be released in March 2013.
'Carrie'
The original movie of Stephen King's debut novel, Carrie, came out in 1976 and is a classic. Carrie tells the story of a teenage girl with telekinetic powers who is an outcast with a deep need for revenge. The remake comes out on October 18, 2013.
'Ender's Game'
Orson Scott Card's 1985 novel, Ender's Game, is finally being adapted into a movie. There are some changes to the novel -- the actor is supposed to be 12, not 6 -- but the director says he is a big fan of the book and kept much of it intact. Ender's Game stars Harrison Ford and hits theaters November 1.
'Catching Fire'
When I saw The Hunger Games in March 2012, the thought of waiting a year and a half for another movie was almost unbearable. I think many other fans will be thrilled to see how the film adaptation of this saga continues in Catching Fire. The movie is set for release in November.
