'The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society'

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows was the best book I read in 2008. It is always hard for me to accept film adaptations of favorite books, but I can't wait to see the island of Guernsey on the screen. Kenneth Branagh will direct the movie and Kate Winslet will star in it. No release date has been set.
'The Devil in the White City' by Erik Larson

The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson is the true story of a serial killer at the Chicago World's Fair in 1893. Leonardo DiCaprio has signed on to play the killer, HH Holmes. The book also follows the architect of the fair. It will be interesting to see if the movie covers both storylines. The movie has not started filming and no release date has been set.
