The Bottom Line

Jennifer Weiner is a perennially best-selling author, and her latest book, Fly Away Home, will undoubtedly top the charts. Fly Away Home tells the story of three women, the wife of a straying senator and her two adult daughters. They each find themselves in various stages of destroying their lives, having their lives destroyed, and rebuilding.

Pros

Guide Review - 'Fly Away Home' by Jennifer Weiner - Book Review

Fly Away Home is about a carefully groomed politician's wife named Sylvie, whose husband's cheating becomes embarrassingly public. Her two adult daughters seem to be opposites--one is a successful doctor with a husband and child while the other is unemployed and just out of rehab. Jennifer Weiner's novel is about these three women trying to figure out how their lives turned out the way they did, and whether they still have the chance to change things.

Jennifer Weiner has written eight novels that topped the New York Times bestseller list; her work clearly resonates with readers, and Fly Away Home won't disappoint those fans. The tone and emotional explorations make it similar to her previous works. The plot elements tread some familiar territory, though, and Fly Away Home isn't a reading experience that really sticks with you.
