This beautiful Life
- This was absolutely stupid. The way the author described things in this book made me cringe. Something about sweat dripping down the 15-year-old kid's butt cheeks? Admiring the new adopted baby's vagina? Come on. This is just plain old gross. Boring story and just cringe-worthy

Not just this last year
- Anything written in the last 5 years by Nicholas Sparks. Somehow he managed to turn into little more than a mad-lib writer. Anyone can follow his fill in the blank formulations. Pity- he was so good in the beginning

A is for Aaaahhh!
- While it did not come out in 2011, A is for Alibi was definitely the worst book I read this year.

Most overrated book?
- One day. Everyone was reading this book, everyone was talking abut it, they were making it into a film...so I bought the book. Beyond awful. Contrived storyline, boring. Very disappointing.

Red Mist
- I long await Patricia Cornwall's newest Kay Scarpetta novel but Red Mist under -exceeded all expectations. The plot was contrived with underdeveloped characters because there were far too many to do each justice. The foreshadowing was a "dead-end" (no pun intended) and left me baffled as to why Ms. Cornwall added this non-sensical filler. When the primary sociopath was ultimatelty revealed, I felt cheated!! It was so lame. Ms. Cornwall, you can have written better.

Worst Book of 2011
- The Passage by Cronin. Anyone who loved this book simply does not know what good fiction is. Flat stereotyped characters, absurd plot, insignificant words, words, words. The problems with this novel are so multifarious that there simply isn't room or time to detail them. Don't waste your time.

Wicked Read
- Preparing to see the musical, Wicked, I decided to buy/read the book. Easily the worst book I've read as an adult. Bravo to the producers of the musical...who managed to find a good story in an awful book!

Worst and Overrated book in 2011
- My vote for the worst book of 2011 would be Christine Feehan's Dark Predator. Although, fiction there is nothing romantic about this book. The 'hero' commits rape and abuse to his lifemate. Feehan explains as a 'dark gene'.
