The best book of 2011!

Definitely Stephen King's excellent time travel book tackling Kennedy assasination, 11.22.63. Not only one of the best books by King, certainly the best book of the year. 800 plus pages fly by within a day or two.

The Story of Beautiful Girl

This book by Rachel Simon is a story set in the 60's where mental health was ill-defined and poorly understood and dealt with. This is a love story that also awakens the human conscience. Two residents of a mental health institute, Homan and Lynnie, are institutionalized due to deafness and mental retardation respectively. They escape but before Lynnie is captured, she hides her new born baby in Martha's attic and asks Martha to 'hide her'. The story follows Lynnie, Homan and Martha for the next 40 years and the paths their lives take. Excellent, excellent book!

This book stood out by far, it was recommended by a friend who raved about it. I can only say how right he was, this book enraptured me with it's historic accuracy and compelling characters. Filled with mystery and intrigue, I couldn't put it down.

The Wise Man's Fear

I absolutely love the way that Patrick Rothfuss writes. I am captivated in Kvothe's story right from the beginning. I want to know what happens as I read and I can't wait to find out what happens later on in the next book of the Kingkiller Chronicles.

This new author kept me on the edge of my seat - I literally sat up all night reading this suspense novel because I had to know what was going to happen next, and I am not exaggerating. It is a great read, full of tense moments and great characters.

The Corruption of Michael Levitt

"The Corruption of Michael Levitt" is a wonderfully written novel that keeps you yearning for more. Anyone can relate to the events that the main character Michael Levitt experiences. When Levitt was sad, I was sad, when Levitt was angry, I was angry. Do you know the feeling you get when you exit a movie theater and feel like it was your life on the screen, and you wish you could do the same things that happened in the movie? That’s the feeling I got after reading The Corruption of Michael Levitt. The author Joel Levine has really come up with something new and unique, unlike anything I’ve ever read before.
