- I know you may groan when you hear this but Dan Brown has some good books. He often writes about religion, and his books are a blend of fact and fiction that gets you thinking.

The Beach House by James Patterson
- I have read approx. 10 Patterson books and the one I enjoyed the most was beach house. The plotting was taut and the character building was well done. The suspense was gripping and the conclusion was worth the wait

Nora Roberts
- I don't read Nora Roberts, usually, but her Circle Trilogy was quite enjoyable. I love fantasy/sci fi, the UK and vampires. Throw them all together, and you've got these books. Fun for a Charlaine Harris fan (me)!
