The Mist

The Mist, no doubt! It has all of the ingredients; mystery, suspense, horror, plot, human drama, etc., and it kicks off quite immediately, not letting up the tension through to the end!

Salem's Lot

One time when the book and the movie are both as frightening. After watching the movie I would run up the stairs to go to bed . This lasted for at least 2 weeks, and I was 12 or 13. To this day just thinking about David Souls character sends chills up my spine, even though he was the hero. I think it is more because you can feel his fear. The book left much to the imagination, but it was more your own fears that made it scary. My opinion only.

Storm of the Century

Born of Sin ... come on in. "Born in lust, turn to dust." His name is Lenoge, and he will go away if you give him what he wants ... but,if you do can you live with your choices?

Still freaks out my grown children

My favorite movie has to be It. Tim Curry made such a good Pennywise the clown. I heard they are remaking it and I have mixed feelings. I still can't imagine anyone els playing Pennywise. I know they are redoing it to appeal to a new/younger audience than me. I guess I will have to see when it comes out what my opinion will truly be. I know that the actors are getting dated. Example being that while substituting at the local High School we had finished the work and I was suppose to let them watch a movie. I put in Dante's Peak and I heard one girl ask the other one who was that actor. It was Pierce Brosnan. I really felt old. So remake it, if I don't like it I can always watch the original.

The Repeat Performances

It is very difficult to pick a favorite, but the ones I will watch over and over and over would be IT because it absolutely terrified me as a child and still does an adult, The Green Mile because it makes me cry every time, The Tommy Knockers keep knocking at my door, Dream Catcher makes me wish I had such friends, Salem's lot is a jump for the bed movie and The Dead Zone pulls at my heart that anyone should have to go through all the bad things he does. There are many others I will watch again, but the mentioned ones I want to kick myself for missing.

The Shining

OF COURSE the original ....Stanley Kubrick turns a fantastic book into an even more fantastic film. The enormous tension in the cinema was over the top.

The Talisman and The Dark Tower Series,

Every word that he has written, every mini-series, short film, tele movies and movie I have watched. As yet haven't picked up one of his books I wanted to put down. Truely a master of imagination. You see what he writes as your reading love to get lost in the pages of his stories. Reading 11:26:63 at the moment and loving it. Only downer (2 actually) I think is that the best story he co-wrote and was going to be made into a movie never has been. Please someone make a long word for word tele-movie of the Talisman and The Dark Tower series

Misery...

That's one of the best, I found it when I was surfing the channels, it was a Stephen King maraton at 1am in the morning and even though I was soo scared I couldn't stop looking.. the actors were great, and I was in suspense because of the psyco. Other great stories are The Shining, Shawshark, The mist, IT, Childrens of the cornThe stane and of course Pet Sematary. All king work and book's are excellent and unique.
